If your organisation requires identity verification, you’ll be asked to complete this as part of the Get Started steps when onboarding through TalentDesk. This process verifies your identity using your photo ID and includes Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks.
This guide walks you through the full identity check process and what to expect at each step.
When & Where the Identity Check Happens
After creating your TalentDesk account, you’ll land on the Get Started page. One of the required onboarding steps will be the Identity Check.
Step-by-Step Identity Check Process
1. Click on “Complete your identity check”
You’ll be informed that you’ll need:
- A valid photo ID
- A device with a camera
2. Click on “Start verification”
Mobile Verification
1. You will be asked to either scan a QR code on your screen using your mobile device OR verify with your current mobile device to begin the identity check process
This will launch the identity check process via our partner, Veriff
2. Tap “Let’s go!” to begin the verification on Veriff
Photo ID & Face Capture

You'll be asked to take a clear photo of your photo ID

Next, you'll be asked to take a clear photo of your face (follow on-screen instructions from Veriff carefully)
What Happens Next?

Veriff will verify your identity in real time

Most checks are completed in a few seconds to a couple of minutes

If the check fails (e.g. blurry photos, invalid ID), Veriff will:

Show the reason(s) for failure

Prompt you to restart the process if needed

Assuming your identity check is successful, you will then receive an email from TalentDesk explaining that your identity check has been successful and that you can continue with the rest of your onboarding process.
